   Hi Frantisek, definitely yes. Based on my personal experience ice-breaking excercises are an excellent way to demonstrate importance of team spirit creation.

   Hi Frantisek, ice-breaking can also increase the energy, engagement and create interest. Many times there is no interaction because there was missing exactly this point at the beginning. even great speakers or leaders use in their presentations 1 or 2 sentences at the beginning which are kind of Ice breaker. it can be some teaser in 2 sentences, or as you suggested some short practical demonstration ... whatever works for your audience. which means the better you know the audience the better you will fit the ice breaker for the purpose.

   Any activity in project shall have a clear purpose. In case of ice-breaking it is typically improving relationships between team members and in the team as whole. It makes the most sense for completely new teams or when overall atmosphere in the company is not that good. Mostly it is done outside the company (e.g. a common leisure activity or a dinner). One of the in-company options is a "breakfast with the project". In my view the ice-breaking activity shall be pleasant as it can be quite contraproductive otherwise. Ice-breaking may or may not be necessary, but team spirit building is useful for every project.
