  1. Hi Barbora, in my opinion, EQ or emotional intelligence, materializes in two ways. The first and strongest form is through raw talent, unfortunately or fortunately depending on your perspective. In the way how some people speak more than others, the level of EQ can vary depending on personality and character. Now this doesn’t mean it can’t be improved. The key to reading other people is being able to read yourself. Improve your self-awareness by understanding your feelings and how they develop. By getting your emotional psyche under control, you’re then able to connect with others based on their needs and desires. Empathy plays a role in EQ but only in moderation. Just because you “feel” for somebody, this doesn’t mean you should blindly act on it based on emotion alone. There is interplay between EQ and IQ.
