Taking responsibility for an unrealistic project deadline, scope and quality.

Dear all, Most probably you have already met a situation when you knew the real project or program status and you were under pressure to commit yourself that it would be delivered within budget, on time and to the expected quality even though you knew it couldn't without any change. The most frequent question that I have got from my clients, couched project managers, has been what they should do in the case of the situation described above. Dear all, I'd like to ask you to answer this very interesting and important question. I have prepared some potential answers (limited for four). I hope your possible answer would be one of them. Let me ask you to vote and share your opinion with LinkedIn members. P.S. Of course, there are many other possible answers but what about to start with the proposed four answers or you can write your opinion into comments. The question: What to do in a situation when you are PM and you are pushed to commit yourself that your project would be delivered within budget, on time and to the expected quality even though you knew it couldn't. I offer you some answers for mitiovation: 1. Commit to the responsibility and do your best 2. Explain the real situation and commit to the responsibility and do your best 3. Explain the real situation and propose some possible solutions 4. Explain the real situation and reject to commit to the responsibility
