Role of leadership in vision creation

Success Problem

Organizational downturns, poor performance or loss of competitive advantage are usually attributed to inadequate leadership. Change in leadership attitude towards vision can make difference.

Impact

Visions are used to develop a strategy that can help an organization make a radical change. Without a vision, human action tends to focus on what is not working. Vision creates a pull toward possibility.

Recommendation

Visions that offer an innovative view of the future increase the prospect of huge improvements in organizational performance. Role of leadership is to create a vision which followers will accept.
