Success Problem
Even though we have some level of understanding supported by experience of what my responsibility is as a leader or manager, there is some knowledge or wisdom of the ages that can help achieve the desired outcomes whatever the current methodology says. Some call it laws of power based on militaristic rules of engagement, some say they are common sense observable best practices based on morality and ethics. What can really help?
Impact
Many would say social skills are not important, because we like to think we have all it takes to achieve what is expected. However, life is stranger than fiction and can produce situations that can literally cause us to never want to talk to anyone again. Not having an attitude where we are ready to learn and acquire knowledge, understanding in this field can leave us in the desert of our social landscape, and in the pitfalls, quick sands and booby traps of the emotional world that is mostly an uncharted territory for many.
Recommendation
Understanding the basics of the IPMA standards concerning the Individual Competence Baseline is a good start and great help to start working on our inner value as well as effective skills to be what it takes in this new age, and to succeed and bring accomplishments for you and for your surroundings.
