Project portfolio management is a business process of systematic introducing the projects to the portfolio, monitoring the contributions of the introduced projects to the realization of the organizational strategies and rejecting inefficient projects. The selection of projects suitable for the portfolio enables to allocate the resources of the permanent organization to the most important projects according to their priorities. These priorities are changing and therefore the management of the portfolio includes also project stopping.
