Success Problem
People are busy and it’s tough for the project manager to move forward on a project if he/she cannot never get answers from the person he/she is working with.
Impact
Obviously, you won’t be the manager is not able to work ahead and then ask for approval on all aspects of the project, especially those that will cost a lot of time and resources to update should the client say: no.
Recommendation
The project manager can drastically increase the response rate if he/she does a little bit of work ahead of time. Instead of waiting for the back-and-forth discourse to finally take place, he/she simply starts moving in the direction that he/she thinks is best and then seeks verification. This strategy makes it easy for the client to quickly say yes or no.
