The Project Does Not Start on Time.

Success Problem

The client changes the top priority of his/her projects.

Impact

The manager is not able to start the project with changed priority on time as requested by the client.

Recommendation

The manager should give the client a call to discuss his/her expectations and should set a more realistic timeframe for the first milestone. This makes the client feel like things have started. However, the manager should beware of doing this more than once. That’s known as stringing the client along and the client don’t take that too well, and for good reason. If the hold up is on client´s end, then the manager should communicate very clearly how that alters things moving forward. The manager should let the client know exactly how this change affects the completion dates of future milestones and should check the revi-sed schedule against other commitments with other projects.
