When do we need to establish the portfolio steering committee?
Impact
Portfolio steering committee introduces the internal project to the portfolio and introduces the external projects to the portfolio of the permanent organization. It determines and regularly reappraises the projects and programs priorities in accordance with the actual organization strategy.
Recommendation
Portfolio steering committee comprises: a) the delegate from permanent organization‘s top management b) the delegates from respective organizational units. The committee chairman is the portfolio manager authorized to alocate the organizational resources to the projects and programs according to the priorities approved by the steering committee. The portfolio manager is also competent to control the development of the portfolio parts.
