Project outnesting is the process of consecutive preparation of a new project, referring to the „parent“ project e.g. passing from one phase of the project life cycle to the next phase. Project outnesting can lead to the chain of projects.

Recommendation

Project outnesting can lead to the chain of projects. Chain of projects is a sequence of projects which in stages realize (outnest) single phases (eventually activities) of the „higher“ project. E.g. the phases of the construction project can build such sequence of the (sub)projects: investment intent, con-struction intent, construction documentation, construction realizing.
