Success Problem
Regurarly actualized project progress reports raise the overhead cost.
Impact
The project manager has to decide, how often should he/she control the project progress.
Recommendation
Consider the management by exception as a part of the management focused on consistent meeting the project objectives by objectives. It is a concept of project event driven control, in which the project manager gives the project progress report only in the case of overrunning the project spending variance. Regurarly actualized project progress reports are in this case unneeded. Management by exception is usable only in the case of experienced, reliable and professionaly competent project manager.
